PEARS

Grafted on virus-free Quince A rootstocks and Ministry Certified as free from virus and disease. For pollination select two varieties from the same or neighbouring group.

If you only have room for one pear, Concorde, Conference and Invincible are self-fertile or try a family Pear tree.

Harvesting Pears -  Pick pears when they are slightly under ripe as their texture and flavour improve after picking. Ripe pears yield to a slight pressure at the stem end and have an inviting aroma.

Firmer pears are usually preferable for use in cooking.
